The original carpet was designed and woven by Sara Hotchkiss in her studio on the coast of Maine. The artist's involvement with textiles dates back to kindergarten and her love of color is inspired by a lifelong passion for gardens and the details of nature. Stars are a favorite theme, and this carpet design shows her reverence for folk art, showcased by blending the traditions of tapestry and rag rugs.
