Rug made of wool decorated cloth with central seam. Edges decorated with running svastika pattern, an ancient symbol of good fortune in Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain cultures. Acquired by the British Museum from Anthony Aris, brother of renowned Bhutan scholar Michael Aris.
